its ongoing sponsorship of
Rhett
Butler Trucking's Technology Show Truck by incorporating their SafeTRAC
Lane Departure Warning System on Rhett Butler's new Gold Truck.
The Gold Truck, the 2nd in a series of award-winning “Gone with
the Wind” themed trucks shown by Rhett Butler Trucking, will be debuted
at the
Mid-America
Trucking Show in Louisville, KY on March 25th – 27th.
“Our show trucks are some of the most advanced vehicles on the road today,” said Rhett Butler, owner of the self-named carrier and long-time user of SafeTRAC. “We want to showcase the latest and greatest in safety technology for the trucking industry so Assistware’s SafeTRAC is a natural fit.”
SafeTRAC is a lane departure warning system that utilizes a small camera to watch the road-ahead. It not only warns the driver if they are about to drift out of their lane, but it also can detect if their driving performance is becoming erratic and instructs them to get rest.
“We have been driving with SafeTRAC for years,” added Larry Weaver, Show Truck Coordinator. “I have found that it not only provides me additional protection on the road, but it greatly increases my overall driving proficiency as well. I wouldn’t want to drive without it.”
In use at Rhett Butler Trucking since 2001, SafeTRAC was first specified as part of Rhett Butler’s Kenworth T2000 Technology Truck. Designed to showcase the latest technological advancements, the tech truck also provides the carrier with an excellent opportunity to road-test advanced safety products such as SafeTRAC.
